Bipgraphy: Tess Harding

Tess Harding, played by the australian born actress Emilie de Ravin is a recent addition to the Roswell cast. Arriving towards the end of the first season, Tess is the fourth alien and Max's mate. Her arrival has caused alot of trouble in Roswell and she is seen as a treat by Maria and Liz, with only Isabel keen to develop a friendship with her. It has taken a long time for the other three aliens to trust her and they are still weary of her at times. At first glance, it would seem that Tess is a trouble maker, who uses her sexuality to minipulate people. However, with the death of Nasado in an early episode of the second season, Tess has shown us that sheis vulnerable and can be a very emotional person. Perhaps we have been mislead the cold outer shell and it will take time to penetrate through it and reveal the real Tess. Tess is more aware of her alien side than the other three, presumably because she was brought by Nasado and is very keen to establish herself as an alien rather than as a human. Her relationship with Micheal contunues to develop as Micheal wants to learn more about himself and Tess seems to have the answers that he needs. She remains good friends with Isabel but her relationship with Max is very shaky, most probably because she is very open about her feelings for her and their destiny to be with each other. Max refuses to accept their destiny and is very uneasy around her, even as he attempts to keep their relationship simply as a friendship. it is apparent that he is attracted to her.Tess represents all the temptations and dangers that Max has to face in his never ending quest to retain his relationship with Liz. It is very hard to decide what the future holds for Tess and how her charcter will eventually develop, but the question we need to ask as of this moment is Who is the real Tess ??
