Biography: Liz Parker

Liz Parker
, played by Shiri Appleby is the main female character of the show. Liz has lived in Roswell, New Mexico all her life with her parents Nancy and Jeffrey Parker who own the Crashdown, a trendy hang out for the teenage population of Roswell and the regular coach bus of tourists. Liz had always been content with her life, living above the Crashdown and helping out as a waitress after school, perfectly content with school, her best friend Maria and her boyfriend Kyle. But Liz's perfect world was turned upside down when a stranger came into her life and from then on it has been a never ending roller-coaster of self discovery and live. It is fair to say that Liz was fairly naive before Max came into her life, and we see her development and maturity in every episode where she faces a new challenge. Liz is the one we are all most familiar with as each episode is told through her eyes, so we can experience her joys as well as her pains. Lix has a very complex personality, she is kind and loving, but she can also be described as a 'control freak', always needing to find explanations for every time This is what makes her relationship with Max so refreshing because she cannot logically explain his existence or her deep deep love for him, through Max she has learned to relax and she now has the ability to step out of her little sheltered world, which she has created for herself and into the real world. In conclusion, Liz is a very likable character that we can all relate to in one way or another, hopefully Liz's character will continue to develop in the future as she learns more about her self and the real world. The second season has seen her relationship with Max treated by the presence of Tess, which her highlighted her vulnerability to a certain extent, the question for the future being how will she deal with the treat and will she be tempted to return to her little world if everything gets too out of control and unexplainable?
